Metallic Rouge

About Metallic Rouge

Metallic Rouge (メタリックルージュ) blends action, mystery and sci-fi by bones (2024). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. The setup: In a world where humans coexist with androids called Neans, a group known as the Immortal Nine rises up against society. Tasked with disposing of the revolters, a Nean named Rouge Redstar (aka Metal Rouge) and investigator Naomi Orthmann head to Mars to track them down…but first, Rouge wants some chocolate.

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Naomi Orthmann (Tomoyo Kurosawa) and Rouge Redstar (Yume Miyamoto) are two of the characters you will meet early.

This one is best suited to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. At 13 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with bones, which means the visual identity of Metallic Rouge follows that studio's craft. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. With a 5.9/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. On the casting side, Tomoyo Kurosawa voicing Naomi Orthmann gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2024, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
