Galaxy Angel Rune

About Galaxy Angel Rune

Looking for background on Galaxy Angel Rune (ギャラクシーエンジェる～ん)? This comedy and sci-fi series by MADHOUSE and Satelight (2006) starts out like this. The premise: Apricot Sakuraba and 4 new girls were now assigned as the new Galaxy Angels with the same assignment: to search for the Lost Technology and keep peace to Planet Transbaal.

With comedy at the core, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Di Gi Charat (Asami Sanada) and Milfeulle Sakuraba (Ryouko Shintani) are two of the characters you will meet early.

Think of it as a pick for viewers who want something light between heavier series. With 13 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with MADHOUSE and Satelight, which means the visual identity of Galaxy Angel Rune follows that studio's craft. Within the comedy category, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. With a 6.1/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. On the casting side, Asami Sanada voicing Di Gi Charat gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2006, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
