Initial D Fifth Stage

About Initial D Fifth Stage

Here is what Initial D Fifth Stage (頭文字[イニシャル]D Fifth Stage) is about, retold in plain terms: an action, drama and sports anime by SynergySP (2012). The setup: Taking place in the sacred land of street running Kanagawa, once more Takumi Fujiwara will show his driving skills on his now legendary Hachi-roku.

As an action title, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Voice work is led by Shinichirou Miki as Takumi Fujiwara and Unshou Ishizuka as Bunta Fujiwara.

It will appeal most to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. At 14 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with SynergySP, which means the visual identity of Initial D Fifth Stage follows that studio's craft. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. At 7.9/10 it earns a solid reception, a safe pick for fans of the genre. Voice casting, including Shinichirou Miki as Takumi Fujiwara, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2012, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
