BNA

About BNA

BNA (BNA ビー・エヌ・エー) blends action, comedy and fantasy by TRIGGER (2020). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. The setup: In the 21st century, the existence of animal-humans came to light after being hidden in the darkness of history. Michiru lived life as a normal human, until one day she suddenly turns into a tanuki-human.

From there, she runs away and takes refuge in a special town area called "Anima City" that was set up 10 years ago for animal-humans to be able to live as themselves. There Michiru runs into Shirou, a wolf-human who hates humans. Through Shirou, Michiru starts to learn about the worries, lifestyle, and joys of the animal-humans.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Voice work is led by Sumire Morohoshi as Michiru Kagemori and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Shirou Oogami. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. With 12 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

TRIGGER is the studio behind BNA, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. A 7.2/10 score points to a dependable, well-liked series. On the casting side, Sumire Morohoshi voicing Michiru Kagemori gives the lead role a recognizable voice. It aired in 2020, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
