Heroines Run the Show

About Heroines Run the Show

Heroines Run the Show (ヒロインたるもの！〜嫌われヒロインと内緒のお仕事〜) arrives as a drama anime by Lay-duce (2022), and the premise is easy to summarize. What the story covers: Hiyori left her hometown to pursue her passion, track and field, by enrolling in Tokyo's Sakuragaoka High School. Looking for a part-time job in Tokyo, she ended up working as an apprentice manager for her classmates (and LIP×LIP members) Yuujirou Someya and Aizou Shibasaki.

Further in, the story revolves around the coming-of-age of Hiyori (as she juggles school, extracurricular life, and managing) and LIP×LIP (as they shine on stage).

As a drama title, character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. Saku Akechi (Hikaru Midorikawa) and Hina Setoguchi (Momo Asakura) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who prefer story and feelings over flashy action, put it on your list. At 12 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with Lay-duce, which means the visual identity of Heroines Run the Show follows that studio's craft. Because it leans on drama, character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. At 7.1/10 it earns a solid reception, a safe pick for fans of the genre. On the casting side, Hikaru Midorikawa voicing Saku Akechi gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2022, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
