PSYREN

About PSYREN

Meet PSYREN (PSYREN -サイレン-), an action, adventure and sci-fi anime by Satelight and Studio Pierrot (2026). Here is the premise in a nutshell. What the story covers: One day, high schooler Ageha Yoshina picks up an unexplained “red phone card” left behind in a public telephone booth. A few days later, his childhood companion and classmate, Sakurako Amamiya—who possessed the same card—suddenly vanishes without a trace.

Further in, in search of her, Ageha comes across himself drawn into the rumors surrounding a nationwide string of unexplained disappearances, said to be the work of a concealed organization known only as “Psyren.” When he accesses the group.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Voice work is led by Rikuya Yasuda as Ageha Yoshina and Mayuko Kazama as Sakurako Amamiya. Think of it as a pick for viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. With 4 episodes so far, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Satelight and Studio Pierrot, so the studio's house style defines how PSYREN looks and moves on screen. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. A 7.0/10 score points to a dependable, well-liked series. On the casting side, Rikuya Yasuda voicing Ageha Yoshina gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2026, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
