SHADOWS HOUSE

About SHADOWS HOUSE

SHADOWS HOUSE (シャドーハウス) arrives as a fantasy anime by CloverWorks (2021), and the premise is easy to summarize. What the story covers: High atop a cliff sits the mansion known as Shadows House, home to a faceless clan that pretends to live like nobles. They express their emotions through living dolls that also endlessly clean the home of soot.

As things develop, one such servant, Emilico, aids her master Kate as they learn more about themselves and the mysteries of the house.

In a fantasy series like this, world-building, magic systems and creature design set the tone. Voice work is led by Yuu Sasahara as Emilico and Akari Kitou as Kate. Think of it as a pick for fans of magic, kingdoms and invented worlds. The run is 13 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.
