The Buried Tree Devil

About The Buried Tree Devil

Here is what The Buried Tree Devil (Daomu Biji Zhi Qinling Shen Shu) is about, retold in plain terms: an adventure, supernatural and mystery anime by unknown (2021). What the story covers: After experiencing two adventurous events, Wu Xie returned to Hangzhou from Nansha. During his training, he without warning received an itchy call that he hadn't met for a long time.

Next up: Lao Yi and Wu Xie told about their adventures in the hinterland of the Qinling Mountains three years ago, and invited Wu Xie to go on an adventure together and explore the long-lost ruins. Wu Xie and Lao You set off for an expedition in the Qinling Mountains. Here, they saw the huge Zheluo salmon, the magnificent underground river waterfall, the incredible age-old sacred tree...

As an adventure title, exploration, new locations and a steady sense of momentum drive the story. If you count yourself among anyone who enjoys travel-the-world storytelling, put it on your list.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with unknown, which means the visual identity of The Buried Tree Devil follows that studio's craft. Within the adventure category, exploration, new locations and a steady sense of momentum drive the story. With a 6.9/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Released in 2021, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
