Coyote Ragtime Show

About Coyote Ragtime Show

Looking for background on Coyote Ragtime Show (コヨーテ ラグタイムショー)? This action, adventure and comedy series by ufotable (2006) starts out like this. In short: Mister is a "coyote" or space faring outlaw who has been sitting in prison for a year for a traffic offence. Ten days from release, he breaks out with the help of his old partners Bishop and Katana.

From there, he then seeks out Franka who has been left in his care by her dead father and takes her on an adventure to find her father's treasure. On their heels are the federal investigators Angelica and Chelsea as well as the android assassins of the Criminal Guild, Madame Marciano's Twelve Sisters.

With action at the core, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Katana (Tomokazu Seki) and February (Rina Satou) are two of the characters you will meet early. This one is best suited to viewers who like fast, high-impact fights. At 12 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with ufotable, which means the visual identity of Coyote Ragtime Show follows that studio's craft. The action focus matters here: fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Its 6.3/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. Voice casting, including Tomokazu Seki as Katana, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2006, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
