BACK ARROW

About BACK ARROW

Here is what BACK ARROW (バック・アロウ) is about, retold in plain terms: an action, adventure and fantasy anime (2021). In short: Lingalind is enclosed by the Wall. The Wall covers, protects, cultivates, and nurtures the land. The Wall is God.

As things develop, one day in Edger, a village on the outskirts, an enigmatic man named Back Arrow appears. Arrow has no memory, but he claims that all he knows is that “I came from outside the Wall.” Arrow tries to go beyond the Wall to regain his memories but is pulled into one conflict after another.

In an action series like this, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Narrator (Shunsuke Takeuchi) and Elisha Lean (Ari Ozawa) are two of the characters you will meet early. If you count yourself among viewers who like fast, high-impact fights, put it on your list. The run is 24 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

Within the action category, fight choreography, pacing and sound design carry much of the weight. Its 5.8/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. On the casting side, Shunsuke Takeuchi voicing Narrator gives the lead role a recognizable voice. Released in 2021, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
