About Lapis Re:LiGHTs

Lapis Re:LiGHTs (Lapis Re:LiGHTs（ラピスリライツ）) blends fantasy and music (2020). Below is a fresh retelling of what the story is about. At its core: Tiara has just been accepted to the Flora Girls Academy for young witches. Her lifelong dream of becoming a formidable “light” to cleanse the world of magical beasts is now possible.

More of the story: Not before she hits the magical music books! Oh, and little did Tiara know that she’s about to take center stage in a classroom full of potential dropouts. Challenge accepted.

As a fantasy title, world-building, magic systems and creature design set the tone. Ashley (Iori Saeki) and Lynette (Mizuki Yamamoto) are two of the characters you will meet early. This one is best suited to fans of magic, kingdoms and invented worlds. The run is 12 episodes in total, so you know what you are signing up for.

Production & Appeal

The fantasy focus matters here: world-building, magic systems and creature design set the tone. With a 6.3/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. On the casting side, Iori Saeki voicing Ashley gives the lead role a recognizable voice. It aired in 2020, which makes it easy to place in the wider anime calendar.
