Joshi Kausei

About Joshi Kausei

Joshi Kausei (女子かう生) arrives as a comedy anime by Seven (2019), and the premise is easy to summarize. At its core: This is a story of silent high school girls who are adorable even if they do not speak! Centered around the tragic yet beautiful Momoko, this anime is about the lives of three high school girls including the cool, glasses character, Shibumi, and the iyashikei chibi, Mayumi.

As things develop, this silly, comical daily life of these girls is about having fun alone or together with each other.

With comedy at the core, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Voice work is led by Rika Tachibana as Momoko Fuko and Yurika Kubo as Mayumi Furui. It will appeal most to viewers who want something light between heavier series. With 12 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Animation is handled by Seven, so the studio's house style defines how Joshi Kausei looks and moves on screen. The comedy focus matters here: timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Its 5.4/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. Voice casting, including Rika Tachibana as Momoko Fuko, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2019, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
