BABYLON

About BABYLON

Here is what BABYLON (バビロン) is about, retold in plain terms: a drama, mystery and psychological anime by REVOROOT (2019). At its core: The suspense story centers around Zen Seizaki, a prosecutor with the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors' Office. While investigating illegal acts by a certain pharmaceutical company, Seizaki stumbles across a conspiracy over an election for an autonomous "new zone" established in western Tokyo.

As a drama title, character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. Zen Seizaki (Yuuichi Nakamura) and Atsuhiko Fumio (Kenshou Ono) are two of the characters you will meet early.

It will appeal most to viewers who prefer story and feelings over flashy action. With 12 episodes in total, there is enough room for the story to develop.

Production & Appeal

Production sits with REVOROOT, which means the visual identity of BABYLON follows that studio's craft. The drama focus matters here: character writing and emotional payoff matter more than spectacle. Its 6.4/10 score suggests opinions are split, so it suits viewers who already like the genre. Voice casting, including Yuuichi Nakamura as Zen Seizaki, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2019, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
