Anima Yell!

About Anima Yell!

Here is what Anima Yell! (アニマエール！) is about, retold in plain terms: a comedy and sports anime by Doga Kobo (2018). The premise: The story follows Kohane Hatoya, a 1st year high school learner who is a bit clumsy and scared of heights but who has a very bubbly and outgoing personality. Kohane decides to join the cheerleading club to try to make companions and overcome her weaknesses.

As a comedy title, timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. Kana Ushiku (Haruka Shiraishi) and Kotetsu Tatejima (Tomori Kusunoki) are two of the characters you will meet early.

Think of it as a pick for viewers who want something light between heavier series. At 12 episodes in total, it is easy to plan a viewing schedule.

Production & Appeal

Doga Kobo is the studio behind Anima Yell!, and its direction shapes everything from character design to motion. The comedy focus matters here: timing, character chemistry and running gags decide whether it lands. With a 6.6/10 score, it is more of a niche pick than a universal crowd-pleaser. Voice casting, including Haruka Shiraishi as Kana Ushiku, adds to the appeal for fans who follow seiyuu. Released in 2018, it competed with that season's other new series for attention.
